OccuMed can work with you to devise a health promotion or employee well-being programme to suit your organisational needs. Whether the requirement is for formal presentations or a stand in the canteen at lunch time, a single event or a rolling programme, OccuMed’s Occupational Health Advisors (OHA) are ideally suited to coming to your site to promote good health both in the workplace and at home.

health promotion For example, either as part of their routine role or as special one-off promotional days, the OHA could promote and support national issues such as no smoking days, alcohol and drug abuse initiatives, healthy eating, etc… Alternatively the OHA can target specific areas relevant to the individual workplaces, for example skin care, exposure to sunlight, general hygiene, eyesight health (for VDU users), physical fitness, noise exposure, etc….. With the HSE UK reporting 12.8 million days lost to stress in 2004/05, an increasingly requested subject for a special promotional event is Stress and this can be targeted towards office staff, operatives or both.

As part of a general employee welfare service, employees can also be offered a periodic voluntary health check (blood pressure, cholesterol, BMI, eyesight check, etc….) which would allow them to discuss lifestyle issues with the OH nurse.

There are a hundred and one ways of delivering health promotion, so please contact us today and together we can work out what the most appropriate approach is for you and your company.

3. Associated Medical Services

Occupational health services OccuMed’s strategy is to concentrate on being a first class Occupational Health Provider. We are fully aware, as part of that remit, at times we will need to deliver or at least be responsible for providing other Medical & Health & Safety related services, such as:

  • Drug & Alcohol (D&A) Testing
  • First Aid Training
  • Physiotherapy
  • Specialised Counselling Services
  • Other Specialised Health Services

To ensure OccuMed does not lose focus on our core competency of Occupational Health and load our cost base with unnecessary overheads, we have formed a network with other specialised providers to supply these non-core activities when required.
